Golf Cart Training

UBC employees who operate golf carts on campus are required to initially complete in-person training on golf cart operation. This training will be performed by Facilities Management or an approved departmental golf cart trainer. Please create an Archibus work request or email facilities.ok@ubc.ca at least one week in advance to coordinate the in-person training.

Upon completion of the in-person training and the road test, employees will be asked to complete an online course (via the Workplace Learning Platform) with subsequent completion as an annual refresher.

Note: Facilities Management typically does not have golf carts available to borrow. We recommend attempting to contact the Conferences and Accommodation or the Student Housing and Hospitality Services departments.

The following resources on this webpage are available for approved department Golf Cart Trainers to complete the required safety training for new golf cart operators. Please refer first to the Golf Cart Trainer’s Course Checklist for a step by step guide on how to conduct a training session for one or more employees.

In accordance with the Golf Cart Safety Policy and Procedures Section 5.1 Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining oversight of the golf cart safety training program. All Golf Cart Trainers will have attended an orientation session with Facilities Management prior to conducting training for their employees.

Please note: All registration and licensing for all UBCO owned golf carts in initiated through Facilities Management.
